its crazy how the new anime has all the new CGI tech but it's kind of lazily animated in comparison to the hand drawn OG series that took way more time and effort. Maybe I'm wrong , and this was intentional to make for a more realistic and grounded feel. new anime , from what I see here, doesn't seem a bit more mature and slightly darker. So considering that, perhaps it servers the story and setting "better". Idk. Personally, one of the reasons I didn't get into the OG anime was because how cartoonish it was ( my first samurai /feudal Japan anime was the Ninja Scroll movie, so my taste is kinda based on that) and I don't particularly want too much goofy ball art and antics in what is supposed to a serious subject matter and setting. I've been dealing with that lately with anime as I've tried to get back into it, and for example, I recently watched the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen , but I found the random cringey moments very "immersion breaking " for me. when I'd start getting into it, they'd do some goofy scene or a character would turn into some weird chibi version of themselves and I just hated it

Tbh, mappa did a great job in season two... despite others liking shiny characters like how they had more shine in season 1, season 2 clearness actually seemed better... besides, if it was about animation, then why didn't jjk season 1 win any animation awards but jjk season 2 did... with best character design and best cinematography...

This movie really had better animation than anything pre time skip

I dream of a day that Samurai Champloo is remade and is in the good hands of amazing animators. But if it never happens, at least it will stay the classic that it is.

Much better to just watch the BoG and ResF movies then move to episode 28 of Super. If you skip 1-27: -You are skipping a very very drawn out version of the same story -That very drawn out version of the story is also animated VERY poorly in comparison to the two feature films

If JC Staff gets more time to product One Punch Man season 3, then there's nothing to worry about. Let's just support these animators that worked hard for season 2 even under such a short amount of time and scheduling. after all they did great on season 2 as well, it would've been much better if they had more time

Late, but -- no, I'm not going to say 'even the worst-animated episode from Z is better than anything from Super" because when Super gets *serious* (i.e. the climax of Goku and Frieza vs. Jiren) it's some of the best animation... pretty much ever made; however, I *WILL*, absolutely an unapologetically, and even after watching you carefully pore over every reason the "worst-animated episode of DBZ" is that way, say with great confidence and conviction that the worst-animated episode of DBZ is, absolutely, positively, objectively better and more "soulfully" animated than about 80% of Super's animation. Of course, I'll admit that that's more Toei cheapness than any actual skill of modern animators, but still.
